Fairbury MOPS Information

Welcome to Fairbury MOPS on the web. Here you should find some helpful information, whether you are a first time visitor considering attending our friendly MOPS meeting, or if you are already a member and need some information about upcoming events.

We meet: at the First Baptist Church

(next door to PC High School on 7th street)

from: 9-11 a.m.

on the first and third Wednesdays

September-May.

All mothers of preschoolers (ages 0-5) and your pre-schoolers are welcome to attend.

What is MOPS?

  • MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International is a a nonprofit Christian organization that exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

What do we do at a MOPS meeting?

  • MOPS meetings provide information on topics relevant to marriage, child rearing, and personal growth. They also offer emotional and spiritual support. During a typical meeting, moms enjoy refreshments and fellowship and are encouraged by either a speaker or a creative activity while their children are being cared for in a loving environment called MOPPETS.

  • Typical Meeting Agenda:

  • 9AM-9:15- Opening and refreshments

  • 9:15-9:30- Ice Breaker

  • 9:30-9:40- Announcements

  • 9:40-10:15- Speaker or Creative Activities

  • 10:15-10:45- Discussion at table groups

  • 10:45-10:55- Closing

What will the kids be doing?

  • MOPPETS is a program set up for children to experience Christ's love in a preschool atmosphere. Children are divided into age-appropriate groups and enjoy stories, music, crafts, and more under the care of qualified, loving women.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

You can come visit our group to see if you like it any time you like without registering. If you decide to stick around, the cost for registration is $23.95; this money goes to MOPS International and provides you the "Life on Planet Mom" book, MomSense magazine subscription, MOPS e-mails, and allows you regular attendance to any MOPS meeting. We also have a small group fee of $20 for the year or $2 per meeting to cover our costs.
